How TFG Transfracht digitised transport order handling across 20 forwarding agencies

20 forwarding agencies sending freight papers with no shared system
TFG Transfracht manages a high volume of transport orders across Germany every day. Each order generates freight papers, shipping declarations, and invoices. These documents arrived from 20 forwarding agencies by fax and email — with no shared system to bring them together and make them digitally accessible.
Customers expected to follow the status of their orders at any time, from any location. TFG’s own quality standards set the bar for the search for a suitable partner. In 2008, the company chose Next (then called MultiArchive). The solution met all requirements at the time — and continued to as needs evolved — backed by Nextway’s experience in document process management.
Every document matched against the ERP system automatically
Next is fully integrated into TFG’s main transport order management system. The 20 forwarding agencies send transport orders by fax or email to TFG headquarters, where each document is processed automatically. All relevant index values are compared against the data in the ERP system. Additional metadata is captured automatically. After structured filing, every transport order is searchable in the browser.
One web application for employees and customers alike
Through the Next web client, both TFG employees and customers can check the processing status of any transport order in seconds. Next serves as an easy-to-use web application with immediate access to all managed documents.
