How Erdinger Weissbräu connected document handling to their ERP across every department

Every ERP module in place — except document filing

Erdinger Weissbräu is the world’s largest wheat beer brewery, producing 1.6 million hectoliters a year from Erding, Bavaria. Their ERP system, DCW, handles every business module except document filing. Scanned documents — vouchers, packing lists, delivery notes — had to be linked manually to the corresponding DCW transactions. For packing lists, the process also required OCR recognition to extract data automatically.

Marketing, packaging, and payroll — all dependent on documents in the right place

Erdinger produces dynamic marketing and packaging descriptions based on article data from DCW combined with product images stored in the archive. These descriptions needed to be accessible online to all relevant departments, directly from the ERP application. A separate integration exists for the PAISY payroll system, where all lists and documents are now managed through Next. Flexible search gives employees access to documents regardless of where they sit in the organisation.

Invoice processing wired directly into DCW

The Next Workflow module handles incoming invoices with a direct connection to DCW. Account specifications happen on-screen with real-time verification against the ERP system, and once the workflow is complete, the specifications are recorded in DCW automatically. The result: full transparency across the invoice process and fewer errors from manual handling.

One central archive for every department and every branch

Next now serves as Erdinger Weissbräu’s central corporate archive — covering all applications across all central departments and decentralised branches.
