How Emhart Glass connected invoice processing and workflows across 13 sites worldwide

13 sites and no shared way to handle documents
Emhart Glass SA is the world market leader in technologies for the manufacture and testing of glass containers. The company is headquartered in Switzerland and operates 13 sites worldwide. Before adopting Next, Emhart needed to solve three problems: unrestricted access to company documents across all locations, digitised accounting processes, and faster, more transparent communication between headquarters and branches around the world.
Archive and invoices connected directly to the ERP
Next was integrated directly into the ERP system BPCS. All documents generated by BPCS — outgoing invoices, order confirmations, and purchase orders — transfer automatically to the archive. Incoming invoices and other accounting documents are scanned at all 13 sites and routed to Next.
Workflows that enforce rules and document every step
Incoming invoices follow structured workflows. Each invoice is automatically routed to the inbox of the responsible employee based on site and competence. Approval authorities and review rules are stored in the system. Every work step is logged and permanently archived in Next.
Beyond invoice processing, Emhart uses several additional workflows. Product improvement workflows collect ideas from all sites, manage testing of approved changes, and notify employees when a change goes live. Separate workflows handle the approval of calculations and offers. A service order workflow manages procurement — from purchasing services to ordering repairs.
Transparent processing across every site
With Next, Emhart Glass has short communication paths, fast processing times, and full transparency across all 13 locations. Every document, every approval, and every routing decision is traceable in one system.
